The interior of the new 2022 GMC Sierra Denali is simply breathtaking

When General Motors’ famous truck division, GMC, launched the current generation Sierra 1500, it had its rough start to say the least. For starters, its interior seemed old and outdated, the technology wasn’t all that desirable, and it had a rougher ride compared to its rivals, primarily the Chevrolet Silverado.

But over the years, the truck has undergone a huge evolution that would put the Ford Maverick to shame by becoming an even bigger, bolder and better pickup truck. When it comes to the new 2022 GMC Sierra Denali, the question hasn’t been “how good will the exterior look?” Pretty much everyone expects it to be the best on the outside.

After all, the Sierra Denali 1500 is and has been one of the most eye-catching pickup trucks around. The latest version of the GMC Sierra 1500 gets a new interior with a much larger 13.4-inch touchscreen across the range, except for the base Pro model. And this time, the Denali family has welcomed a new sibling: the AT4X.

This new trim will be the line’s ultimate off-road vehicle, highlighted by its performance, sporty appeal and performance. There’s also a fully loaded Denali Ultimate model at the top of the range, garnished with GM’s Super Cruise Hands-Free Highway Driving System – also debuting that year. Read on to find out more about what the Sierra Denali interior has to offer.

Inside the pickup, your eyes will automatically be drawn to the Sierra Denali’s front cabin, which boasts a sophisticated dashboard with a massive infotainment screen and a nicely designed console underneath, surrounded by luxurious and sporty color stitching that spreads across the interior.

In the Pro model, you get standard features, such as a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system and a keyless remote control. The infotainment system appears to be the same size as the 2021 Yukon Denali.

Moving up, you get wireless smartphone connectivity, a larger 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio and two front USB ports, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, a console-mounted safe, and wireless unit charge.

Additionally, the Sierra family adds a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Depending on trim, other desired tech features include the seven-speaker Bose sound system and wireless device charging. The higher-end models also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and other driver-focused details.

The new Sierra Denali comes with a console shifter, which is a solid change from the column shifter, and for many, it will take some getting used to. One of the most outstanding features is GM’s Super Cruise driver assistance technology, which is available on the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate trim.

Starting with the budget SLE, Elevation, and SLT trims, buyers can enjoy standard Jet Black and Dark Slate interior trim as well as heated driver and outboard passenger seats. To keep your passengers comfortable, the Denali comes with rear door openings, rear air vents and plenty of leg room.

From the SLT trim, you get a standard 120-volt power outlet on the dash, a 10-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and leather upholstery. High quality details get premium forged perforated leather seats and genuine ash, for an extra dose of luxury.

You’ll also enjoy a much quieter ride in the Denali, thanks to the sound deadening technology in the triple-sealed doors, under the hood and in the dash.

Cabin and cargo space are healthy on the 2022 Sierra Denali

The Denali has one of the most luxurious and spacious cabins in the truck line. The Sierra Denali comes in Regular Cab, Double Cab and Crew Cab configurations. Each of these sizes has its quirks. While the regular cab hauls more cargo, the trade-off is that it will only hold up to three people. On the other hand, the double cab and crew cab both offer four doors and seating for up to six people.

But you get more passenger space in the Crew Cab. In addition to the cargo bed, the Denali has several storage areas in the cabin, such as the rear seatback storage, which unlocks storage compartments behind the rear seatbacks. With the rear storage under the seat, you can store shoes under the seat. And you’ll love the console-mounted secure, lockable glove box.

Several convenience packages add more flavor to the Sierra Denali interior

Consisting of up to eight trim levels, there’s always something for every type of buyer. But GMC still topped this up with extra convenience and appearance packages for some buyers who want to get more out of their vehicle and have some extra cash lying around. The Denali Illumination Package gives the truck illuminated details for $920. The GMC Protection Package adds all-weather floor mats and liners for $320.

Another package is the Cargo Convenience Package. This adds a console-mounted safe and more storage under the rear seat, for a price of $515. For an extra $1,045, buyers will have the Driver-Alert package, which unlocks a forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and a distance indicator.

The Technology Package costs $1,875 and adds a bedside camera, a rear camera mirror and a head-up display. At the top is the Denali Premium package, which gives you a power sunroof, wheel locks and more, for $3,390.
