Jeep Meridian vs Mahindra XUV700

This post encapsulates a specifications and design comparison between Jeep Meridian and Mahindra XUV700. Jeep has announced that the Jeep Meridian will be launched around May and deliveries will begin in June this year. The Meridian is the 7-seater version of the already existing Compass, but there will be enough changes above and below the hood to differ from the latter. The teaser video of Meridian reveals the large size and exterior design quite vividly. The front has a chrome-wrapped slate grille, elegant LED headlights with LED DRL flanking the grille, Jeep letters on the hood, projector fog lights, chrome strip on the bumper, thick square wheel arches on the sides, long overhangs at the rear, upright posture, stylish light metal alloy wheels and black on the front door. At the rear, the narrow LED taillights are connected with a thick chrome plate, and the bumper is sporty with a sliding plate that distances itself from the compass. Overall, it will have enough modern elements to establish its own identity.

XUV700 is a handsome SUV with aggressive style and a familiar silhouette to the then XUV500. The front has a solid LED headlight cluster with C-shaped LED DRLs and a large grille with vertical chrome slats, which impresses road presence due to SUV-like dimensions and layout. The rear is even more appealing with a cut-out angular boot lid and elegant LED taillights. The XUV700 is definitely the stronger of the two in terms of looks, while the Meridian is the underrated one.

The specific powertrains that will be offered with Meridian will be announced closer to launch. However, it is most likely to keep the diesel engine offered in the Compass with some adjustments to fit the 7-seater configuration. There will be a 4 × 4 drive system with lots of hardware to handle adventurous terrain terrain that is the trademark of Jeep products. The XUV700, on the other hand, comes with options for turbo gasoline and diesel engines (with multiple configurations) and options for four-wheel drive.
