Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 Jeep® Wrangler (JL):

The iconic Jeep® Wrangler (JL) returns for the 2023 model year, ready to take on competition from Ford and maintain its unmatched off-road capability. The Wrangler continues to offer a body-on-frame design, two body configurations (two-door or four-door “Unlimited”), front and rear 5-link suspension systems, solid axles, and electronic lockers.

While Wrangler offers plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology with the Wrangler Unlimited 4xe, this article will focus on the non-electrified model.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler lineup remains largely unchanged. So what’s new for the 2023 model year?

  • 2023 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition – Available for a limited time, the model is based on the Sport S trim and features performance enhancements and military-themed exterior and interior. You can read all the details about the new limited edition model in our previous post by CLICKING HERE.
  • Two new exterior colors are available at the launch of the 2023 model year. Earl replaces Snazzberry and is a gray color with an aquamarine tint. It will be available year-round across the entire Wrangler lineup. The other color is Reign, a limited edition purple color (the first time purple has been offered on Wrangler JL models). That color will be available until October across the range. Another yet-to-be-announced limited edition will join the lineup later in the model year. You can read more about the two new colors by CLICKING HERE.
  • The Rubicon models get two new wheel designs. Standard is the new WGQ wheel design with red Willys logo accents and a new optional WGM wheel design. Both wheels are 17-inch aluminum offerings.
  • Following in the footsteps of newer Jeep vehicles, all Wranglers feature fender decals with an American flag.
  • Air conditioning (A/C) is now standard on two-door Sport models.

The Jeep Wrangler is known for its outdoor capabilities. No other vehicle offers as many options for outdoor experiences as the Wrangler…

  • The Sunrider Soft Top provides a simple outdoor option. The Soft-Top has holders that slide into a groove to easily remove the passenger window.
  • Three-piece hardtop with Freedom panels offers a unique premium look while a black three-piece hardtop is available on most models, a body color option is also available on upper trim models. The Freedom panels have easy-to-remove latches for quick removal and installation.
  • Available on all Wranglers, the Flip-Top Sunrider for Hard-Top models offers a front softtop that quickly and easily folds back for an enhanced outdoor driving experience.
  • Sky One-Touch Power-Top (Wrangler Unlimited models) allows passengers to open or close the Wrangler’s roof with the push of a button. The Sky One-Touch Power-Top can be used at speeds up to 60 mph (97 km/h).
  • A group of double doors is available (one for base doors, the other for premium doors) and includes both full and half doors. Full steel production doors are installed on the Wrangler while matching body colored half doors are conveniently packed into the vehicle. Engineered, tested and backed by the factory, the new half-door option enhances the Jeep Wrangler’s driving experience with production styling, safety and passenger protection. With lower window sills, half doors provide improved visibility when maneuvering on and off-road.
  • Factory backed, door-off mirror kit for Wrangler is specially engineered and tested to original equipment standards, providing a production-equivalent field of vision with minimal vibration. Each mirror in the kit attaches to a bolt on the hood and upper door hinge. In addition, an innovative custom thumbwheel-nut clamp is used as an attachment point on the door flange. The mounting brackets are finished with a corrosion-resistant primer and durable black powder-coated finish. The mirrors have a built-in breakout function that prevents damage in tight spaces on the road or trail.

Wrangler models with the 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen can choose the TrailCam forward-facing off-road camera. It is accessible via the available Off-Road Pages setting on the touchscreen.

Drivers and passengers also have an abundance of infotainment features at their fingertips with SiriusXM Radio, Travel Link, Traffic and Guardian Connected Services providing real-time information.

Safety and security were paramount in the development of the Jeep Wrangler (JL), which offers more than 75 available active and passive safety and security features. Available features include Blind-Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, ParkView Rear Reversing Camera with Dynamic Grids, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Electronic Roll Damping, and four standard airbags.
