Grand Cherokee L brings the family together – Boston Herald

Family is always the first priority

It is obvious when it comes to family that there is a special place in your heart. But in the context of vehicles, the family is a check box that must be recognized in the car buying experience. Whether it’s needed for the space or room, or moving kids to college, or even having a vehicle big enough for when they come into town for vacations and events. In the same context, there are vehicles that just do the job or are specifically designed for these needs.

In Grasso’s Garage this week it’s all about Jeep and making those needs possible with their amazing Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve 4X4.

In typical Fiat Chrysler Automobiles fashion, they really paint the colors well, on our tester, a Velvet Red Pearl exterior, and it’s beautiful to say the least. Riding on 21-inch all-season tires, the Grand Cherokee L is very comfortable indeed. For dinner six of us go for a nice Italian meal. We loaded up and what a roomy ride the Grand Cherokee L was. With night vision, a 19-speaker McIntosh stereo system and Palermo leather seats, the famous nameplate has grown 15.1 inches longer than the Grand Cherokee and actually almost an inch longer than the Tahoe.

Its six trim levels provide plenty of options for consumers. In typical Jeep fashion, these options are endless. Have you ever built a Wrangler online? It is a process in the hope that consumers will make their next purchase

exactly what they want. Luxuries on our tester include a power tailgate, automatic high beams, remote start, etc.

“Jeep’s answer to the growing interest in three-row, midsize SUVs is the Grand Cherokee L,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for iSeecars.com. “This longer-wheelbase version of the highly successful Grand Cherokee retains all the key features that have served the model so well for decades, including attractive styling, advanced technology, a plush interior and some of the best off-road capabilities available on the market today.

“The Grand Cherokee L combines these qualities as effectively as anything else in the competitive midsize SUV segment, making it a desirable option for a variety of buyers. And the breadth of Grand Cherokee L trim levels, powertrains and features make it a sustainable choice for a wide range of consumer budgets.”

On the interior, the Grand Cherokee L is basically the same as our recently tested Grand Cherokee earlier this year. It features the UConnect 5 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, multiple cameras, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities while using SiriusXM radio. I’ve said it before and will confirm it, the UConnect infotainment system is the best in the business. It’s easy to use, it’s fun to use and very comfortable. Did I mention massaging seats? Yes, it has too!

As a family vehicle, this is a classy ride and a great competitor to the Chevrolet Tahoe Premier or High Country, but at a nice reduced price. The seven-passenger Grand Cherokee L has grand stylings and easily kicks the competition and has a nicely designed exterior.
