2024 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty

GMC today revealed the most luxurious, advanced and capable Sierra HD ever. Arriving in the Middle East next year in SLE, SLT and Denali trims, the 2024 model year takes the Sierra HD range to new heights with premium luxury and comfort, turbocharged traction and enhanced technology – offering the most trailer assist technology in his class1.

Farah Amhaz, Head of Product Marketing, General Motors Africa and Middle East, said: “With new revelations, we regularly raise the bar and set new industry benchmarks, while meeting the needs of our customers. With the new 2024 Sierra HD, we offer so much more than a road companion. Without compromising on luxury and comfort, the truck offers unparalleled towing assistance technologies, helping to enhance customers’ sense of safety, confidence and power. The 2024 Sierra HD is another vehicle we are eagerly anticipating for the region and a strong addition to our premium and capable truck lineup.”

Heavy Duty Highlights:

  • Enhanced power with the combination of available 6.6L V-8 paired with 10-speed Allison transmission delivering 401 horsepower and 629 Nm of torque.
  • Max towing across the lineup including:
    • Up to 9,933 kg2 on the 2500HD Crew Cab – best in class2
    • Up to 10,205 kg3 on the 2500HD – an increase of 4,000 pounds over the current model
    • Up to 16,329 kg on the 3500HD
  • Most available tow assist technologies in their class offer up to 14 camera views4
  • Updated technology including an available new, largest in class1Infotainment in 4-inch diagonal tablet5 touch screen

The 2024 Sierra HD lineup includes the 2500HD and 3500HD models, in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab configurations — with dual rear-wheel drive models available on the 3500HD. They support the series’ highest trailer capacity: up to 16,329 kg.

Fresh and bold – inside and out

The 2024 Sierra HD lineup is elevated with styling and design updates, inside and out. Exterior highlights include:

  • Revised front bumper, fascia, grille design and finish on every trim
  • Animated lighting when approaching, starting or using turn signals
  • New wheel designs on SLE and Denali, in addition to larger 18-inch polished aluminum wheels on dual-rear models
  • Six new exterior colors (additional cost): Titanium Rush Metallic, Sterling Metallic, Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Redwood Metallic, Meteorite Metallic and Downpour Metallic

Inside, GMC designers set the Sierra apart from the competition with unique, new interiors on SLE and SLT trims, as well as unique GMC premium interior designs for the Denali trim. There are also new colors and stitching throughout, with more premium materials throughout the cabin, further elevating the Sierra’s premium look and feel.

10-speed Allison transmission improves towing capacity for gas engines

Allision 10-speed automatic transmission is now mated to the Sierra HD’s 6.6L gas engine. It replaces the previous six-speed automatic and offers smaller “steps” between gears, allowing the 6.6-liter gas engine to stay closer to its peak output (401 horsepower and 629 Nm of torque) for longer periods.

That leads to a more confident sense of on-demand power, regardless of whether the truck is towing a trailer — but when it is, slip resistance and capability are improved thanks in part to the 10-speed configuration, along with the ability to channel every pound-feet of torque to the tires in each gear.

High-tech digital screens5

The centerpiece of the Sierra’s high-tech interior cabin is the new available 13.4-inch diagonal tablet-style touchscreen – the largest infotainment touchscreen in its class1. Located in landscape orientation, the touchscreen offers a user-friendly, customizable experience. An available multi-color 15-inch diagonal head-up display and a new available 12.3-inch diagonal digital instrument cluster are also added for the 2024 model year. Together, this creates over 40 inches of immersive digital displays that help provide an engaging, customizable and comprehensive driving experience.

The all-new touchscreen infotainment center can be configured to the user’s preferences, including the ability to use multiple apps simultaneously in a “split-screen” view (eg a navigation app running on the left side of the screen and a music app on the right). The Sierra HD’s infotainment system will also integrate Google’s built-in7 (on all trims except Pro) allowing customers to connect virtually every aspect of their daily life in their vehicle. The system is compatible with both wireless Apple CarPlay8 and wireless Android Auto9.

The 2024 model will offer a suite6 safety and driver assistance technologies, including:

  • Forward collision warning
