A true icon for the automotive world has been revived with the introduction of the Jeep by Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer premium utility vehicles (UV). The first Wagoneer was introduced for the 1963 model and is THE original full-size utility vehicle. The name survived within the Jeep brand for 30 years.

Now that Jeep is celebrating its 80th year, the well-known Wagoneer has returned as a premium, sub-brand, full-size body-on-frame utility vehicle to compete with such well-known large companies from GM and FoMoCo, also as those from non-domestic brands .

Premium 2022 Wagoneer and luxury 2022 Grand Wagoneer are offered in one size, with seating for seven or eight people, with V8 power, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and towing capacity of up to 10,000 lbs.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vary in exterior and interior as well as features and equipment. This is a different approach than what GM or Ford use by using significant styling and design elements to separate and distinguish their full-size UV models.

I recently drove a 2022 Wagoneer about 150 miles north from my Chicago home to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. I participated in the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) 2021 Rally held at Road America. Along with my highway trip, I was able to drive Wagoneer along the country roads of Wisconsin’s glacial Kettle Moraine as well as on a technical terrain track created by the team at Jeep Jamboree.

Scott Tallon, Product Manager, Jeep Brand – North America gave a product overview of new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Tallon said “This year’s Midwest Automotive Media Association Rally was the perfect place to showcase the latest Jeep models.”

Tallon pointed out that Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will offer a unique and first-class customer service experience. The company works with its dealers to help them achieve Wagoneer certification, which ensures that the dealer delivers 10 customer promises that they together give their customers. Not all Jeep dealers may be Wagoneer dealers. With roots in Jeep’s brand heritage, Wagoneer will become a portfolio of vehicles that defines “American premium” and provides a unique customer experience.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are moving the Jeep brand to a new segment. I’ve driven every GM as well as Ford and Lincoln. One of my daughters has a new GMC Yukon that I have spent a lot of time driving during her visit. As I see it, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer have all bases covered and are very profitable items in the traditional full-size commercial vehicle segment. I was pleasantly surprised at how the spacious and spacious Wagoneer drove as if it were smaller than it actually is. The driving dynamics are very comfortable and refined.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer can only be THE fashionable full-size commercial vehicle to have.

Happy driving
